Hello Ianhimself,
Wonderful to see such a talented writer as yourself on the site.
Welcome - and enjoy

Welcome from me too. I've now read all four of the pieces you've posted here today. I don't think there's much doubt that you're talented.
They're all four very fine. It's neat that Flame should be the first to welcome you; I think that the Finger-wicks on has a Flamesque sort of a twist, leading the reader on to assume one kind of initiation and delivering quite another.
The other three collectively suggest some sort of catharsis : bittersweet relationships from a wistful perspective, the middle-aged man prominent.
I suppose it depends on whether you're introspecting (in which case, thanks for letting us listen) or whether you want encouragement and suggestions for writing development.
If the latter - can you show us another style?

Hi Pin
I put up some more ... ranging from memoir to a sci-fi fiction .... so hopefully that will give a better idea .....
thanks again for your kind words

Hi ian
Bit quiet, innit? For which apologies. In truth, there's a relatively small group of people around h2g2 who are mainly interested in creative writing - and most of them are away at the moment.
So, what do you think of the place?

i like it a lot ... can't find all the creative writing things llike front page 2 that i saw in someone's home space page ... but am sure i will, in time.....
shame there isn't more people into creative writing .... it is such a fantastic forum ....
i must tell more people about it

I did read the new ones, too.
The SF piece is good - exceptional by other's standards - but I think the personal, cuckoo one is better. Perhaps the best of all the pieces that you've posted. I thought it was very moving.
It's a bit difficult to give you crit in the usual sense. There are no clear deficiencies in style or construction to discuss. You've turned up on Day One, already as much the finished article as any of us, here so the usual coaching role of the AWW isn't really going to work.
So instead here's a fairly pathetic question : what do you want to talk about (that might help you as a writer)?

you know i'm not sure.....
i am a writer's group in dublin ..... and am loosely associated with the irish writer's centre ..... have had a few shorts published .. plus one i would love to put here... it's my own favourite piece of work ... but it's coming out in an anthology soon and i;ve lost the contract i signed so have no idea if i can put it up..... ! .....
i guess i'm looking for contacts.... for people to share work and ideas with ....
but really i have no idea what good things can happen for fiction writers on here....

The BBC really should be encouraging fiction writers, you'd have thought.H2g2, though, is determindly sticking to a factual, pseudo-Wiki thing as its core project. I don't really understand why.
There is some brilliant creative writing here, but it's not in the site's mainstream. There was a separate thing called "Get Writing" (now folded) that the Beeb hosted for aspiring writers. There's still "collective", but it's more directed at popular journalism than fiction - though it does have its moments. Very much a collaborative environment, though, not a showcase.
Leaving out my own and Flame's (for the sake of modesty!), here are a few examples of what can be found here. The best consolidated collection on the site is probably the UnderGuide, though the Post, AGG/GAG, Fiction Central etc all have good stuff too.
It's all around. really. Now and again you bump up against Journal Entries, even, that are awesome.
Anyhow : try these...
