Here's a short introductory entry to hostels... Anyone interested in giving me some hints on how it looks? (Hopefully not too bad )

Sorry it has taken so long to get here, but I have had a quick shuftey through the Entry and it has definate potential It could, probably, become part of The Edited Guide, as it is, but I am not definate It may need a bit of work, but at the mo' I am not sure what. All the GuideML and such can be put in by the SubEds, but maybe a phonetic version of the phrases would be good, though maybe not. Maybe someone else can tell if it is just me. Well, I will go and read it again, and see if I can work it out. Until later......

Just tell me if it's anything in particular, and we may work it out.....

Not a bad entry! Yeah, it could use a little formatting, but that's not really your problem - the subeds will take care of that.
I would clean up your text just a bit - option is spelled wrong, and so is advisable (opition & advicable) and you could easily be just a little more concise. But I think you have some great information here on something that not everybody knows about.

On further perusal, you could do with a bit of organization as well! Try grouping your subjects under headers like Types of Hostels, Facilities Available, What You'll Need In A Hostel, Countries that Have Hostels, etc. This has a lot of great information to offer - it just needs a little reshuffling of your subject matter.

I like it, and it's certainly an enter I would refer to (not so many I can say that about, however much I like them)
I would split it up a bit with some sub-headers, just to make it a bit easier to read, say one for different groups of hostels, one for rules.....

Matt, did you know that entries start to smell if they are left unattended for too long?
There's good stuff in there, and all you need to do is a bit of restructuring and perhaps inserting s or s.
Oh, and while you're at it, you may also correct a typo:
'people that doesn't like' -> 'people who don't like'

I've actually tried making headers with the stuff, but I can't get it to work... What am I doing wrong???

There's an entry about that, at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/guideml-clinic
First, let the entry begin with and end with .
Essentially, you have to make sure that each tag has its very own closing tag, eg:
{Title goes in here}
{Title goes in here}
{Paragraph contents go in here}
Intentional Line Breaks are somewhat different, they consist of a single (note the / at the end!)
And you /must not/ "cross" different types of tags (using A and B as examples here):
WRONG: blah blah
CORRECT: blah blah
Very important: Make sure to check the GuideML style button which is at the bottom of the edit screen.
hope that helps,
Viva la Revolucion!

Aha, so it's the GuideML that doesn't make me enter subheaders.. I've actually done a bit of editing, changing a few things, and then adding subheaders with just typing sentences in capital letters.... I'll try as soon as I can to alter it into GuideML!!!!
Thanks for the claryfying message about GuideML by the way
Matt
Congratulations!

This entry's going to be made part of the Edited Guide! It'll be sent to one of the Sub-Editors for a spot of editing, which can take a little while, but you'll be emailed when it hits the Front Page!
Well done - keep up the good work!
This thread is now officially closed.
Congratulations!
