Good post Matt, an entry about Jamaica (Or Amsterdam for that matter, or civilization in general)

isn't complete
without reference to weed

Thanks for positive replies!!! It's nice to hear you both liked it... By the way, I have honestly not heard about that call for legalization from the "normal" clergy of Jamaica... Could you please give me some details, and I can put it in the entry...

Yours...

Rev. Oliver Daley of The United Church of Jamaica and The Caymen Islands is the gadgee, with others following cautiously. This was on the excellent anti-prohibition site

hi! this entry's looking good. here are my 2 cents worth:

1) I'd add some links: for example, to the marijuana news site one of the other people in the forum mentioned.

2) I'd also suggest some proofreading for grammar and punctuation.

heyheyhey mikey,

I thought spelling and grammar issues were ed and sub-ed issues?
Does an artickle need to be flawless to be included?

Grammar and spelling and whatnot *are* sub-ed issues, but the author is generally expected to make *some* attempt at clearing them up if he/she wants the article in the edited guide.

Imagine you're submitting an article to a newspaper -- there's a sub-ed on board to clean up your prose/grammar/spelling/punctuation, but if you turn in something that hasn't even been proofread it's going to be tossed back at you.

Just like having the entry already in GuideML may unconcsciously sway scouts/editors in an entry's favor, so can clean prose.

Pardon my b*tching, you are right and a selfrespecting writer should clean up their act before putting on a show., though I myself would not reject an article on bad grammar / spelling if the content is worth it. We scouts haven't done that yet, and I hope it won't happen. Nitpicking, who needs it?

Thanks for positive feedback!! For the moment I really doesn't have a lot of time on the internet, but I'll try to do something with it as soon as possible, especially about the links you refered to... I do believe I included something about the call for legalisation from Jamaican clergy, I don't remember if I included the name of the priest and his church, since I haven't been looking at the article for some time now.....

See ya soon, and I will try to update it as quickly as possible!!!

Yours, Matt
