I recently discovered that my pants are quite loose, and that the disturbing claims that I had inadvertently lost a substantial amount of mass have been on some level substantiated. What had for so long misaligned my self-image, apart from a chunky childhood, was my tendency to take rather long baths without having removed my pants. The water weight made the electric scale hate me, not the omelets. Next time, I'll swim naked.
