Funny things, aren't they. Look cool, but no floppy drives. Look me up if you don't mind female geeks.

Nothing wrong with being a geek, especially a female one. You hang out at slashdot at all? I guess it all depends on what kind of a geek you are. Personally, I think I'm a music geek (though the dna analyses have yet to be returned) but I can't really find a forum out there (not just at h2g2) that cares about discussing Bruce Hornsby's use of melodic imagery.
And yeah, I like the iMac, but I really wish the keyboard cord was longer. I like to sit at a 45 degree angle to my screen and type with the board in my lap.

Hope you don't mind me popping in, just thought I'd mention, I agree with you, I prefer to put my feet up on the desk, rock back in the chair and type with the keyboard on my lap. But, since I'm not using an iMac, it's not a problem I actually have a wireless keyboard and that makes life ever so much easier on me.

Wireless keyboard, eh? Don't mind ya popping in at all (you lucky man you). I'm sure cordless usb devices are available but I'm not a big fan of spending money on things I really don't need. Not to say I wouldn't LIKE one, but I have a perfectly servicable keyboard.
And besides, it--like the computer--is green. Can't beat that.

Yeah, /. is an occassional haunt. I wouldn't mind a purple (grape flavoured?!) computer, but figure it's cheaper to just spray my old one. I remember a time when I didn't even have a desk and chair and hours online would be interspersed by bouts of hopping round the room with onis and needles. That's impoversished students for ya!
P.S. Bruce who?!

Well, green fits my character. I'm a big fan of lime--Caswel and Masey's the only cologne I can wear without breaking out into a rash.
And Bruce Hornsby's a southern (like Georgia, not Dover ) Piano player/songsmith. He was a keyboardist for the Grateful Dead for awhile before launching a solo career. His most famous songs are "That's Just the Way it is", "White Wheeled Limosine" and "Fields of Gold". He's recorded songs with Pat Metheny, Bela Fleck, Queen Latifa and Jerry Garcia, as well as co-writing 2Pac's "The Changes" (which was based on the afforementioned "Way it is"
Anything else you'd like to know, about anyting really, lemme know. I'm enjoying this convo.
