Emily 'Twa Bui' Ultramarine

So this is it; I am now a member of that great entity known collectively as "ex-girlfriends". Right now I'm not sure how I feel; bitter, perhaps, but in some ways I just can't conceive that this is happening. It was all so sudden. I suppose that the first time will be hard, because it's a new sensation, but with the individual in question, everything was a first - first boyfriend, first kiss, first... yes... and after nearly sixteen months together, it comes as a bit of a shock. I haven't killed myself yet, though, which I suppose is a start.

It's just that now, I have no one. smiley - cry

You've still got us in h2g2... though perhaps we can't fulfill *all* the functions that Jim fulfilled... but you're not totally alone.

Get well soon... smiley - hug and may I be the first to get in the line for a rebound? smiley - devil

ok, ok, that was in poor taste... smiley - sadface

Well I wandered in here totally by accident - after reading one of Emily's highly amusing posts and wondering if I could find out more about her - and after noting her journal entry I thought I'd pop in and say something comforting (especially since I enjoyed her Guide entry on dystopian novels and think she sounds interesting smiley - smiley)
We all go through the same thing sooner or later, at least once in our lives. There's probably nothing I can say to make the pain go away entirely, but have a strong heart - you seem to be doing OK so far.
And if you need a sympathetic ear to rant and rave at, all I can say is that my diary is pretty empty for awhile. Guess us h2g2 types (even newbies like myself) have to stick together huh?

Merci beaucoup, both of you... especially you, the GWP - very few people call me highly amusing, even when they're humouring me.

Well - I'm not sure how things stand at the moment; we'll see how they go as far as my now ex-boyfriend is concerned...smiley - cry

Don't let him get you down. And if you need a shoulder to cry on, oh slightly insane writer from the Land of Brum, I'm in Leicester - a short hop by train smiley - smiley
And you are amusing (and interesting) - I have to wonder if we've got the same sense of humour, and the same interests

Hey Emily... as you've noticed h2g2 is back, please get in touch? I was hoping for a conversation back in January, but that's Sod's Law for you...
Hope things are going better now

Hmmm... thanks. Well, things have got a lot worse, with me eventually being referred to the psychiatric hospital as a potential suicide risk, but they seem to be a little better this week. Ah well. How are things with you? I'm off to write an essay on another dystopian novel, for school, this time. Have fun,

Em

Aww... I'm sorry to hear that *hugs*
If there's anything I can do for ya, even if it's just lending a friendly ear, let's talk - I'm always about as a friend to the many.
Good luck with the essay - I'd love to read it!

and I hope the exams go well too!

Take care, and maybe talk soon.

Mr. Odie, Man's Best Friend {not quite deceased}

Miss Emily,

I know you're feeling really bad at the moment and you have every right to, but PLEASE promise me that you won't think about doing anything stupid... There's no need to, it may take time but you'll get over him sooner or later... Nothing and nobody's worth all of this...

Can I just say that the Great Waldo Pepper seems like a really great person and that lots of people want to help you even if you don't realise it... Take care of yourself...

All my love,
Mr. Odie x

Thanks, everybody... today hasn't been that bad, even the hospital appointment, except that they stole six test tubes full of my blood - b******s. I'm left-handed, so I asked them to take it from my right arm, but that one decided to stop bleeding and so they did it all again in my left. It wouldn't have been so bad, except that I then had to go to orchestra and play Prokofiev very fast.

How are you two then?

Make sure to eat plenty of iron then. But they told you that at the hospital, I'm sure... smiley - nurse

Glad to hear you're doing ok. smiley - smiley

Mr Odie - thanks for the kind words
Emily - I guess you have good taste in music as well as novels (if you were playing by choice, that is)... Glad things seem to be looking up a little, and just remember I'm still here if you want anything. Feel free to drop me an email or somesuch if you need to talk; trust me, I know just what life's like and although I probably haven't been in your situation precisely, I've had more than my fair share of what makes the grass grow green (s**t, to be perfectly blunt about it).
All I can say is, keep your chin up, never let go of hope, and good luck with the A-levels.

As for me, life continues apace. Having knocked University on the head (it just wasn't working out and I figured I should get out early rather than go through the motions til July and wait for the hammer to fall), I'm claiming Jobseekers' Allowance, failing to get any offers, and getting sent on courses like CLAIT (aka Computing for the Clueless - no offence to those who're doing it, but it's so basic I managed to do all three core assessments AND the three options in under six hours). So I've got a little case of the blues but I'll live.
I'm glad h2g2 is back - I need all the friends I can get, and it's damn nice to be just a guest instead of running my temporary h2g2 EzBoard...

Anyway, I gotta split, so catch you later!

Scaroth, Last of the Jagaroth

I am terribly sorry to intrude. I am currently in the state of trying to find people to latch on to and you all seem like very interesting people.

As for Emily Ultramarine, I understand it must be a great shock to be dumped like that but I am sure that you will get back on your feet again and bounce back stronger than ever before. So much so that I predict you shall end up beating the b*****d to death with a swiss roll.

The Spring Waldo Onion

Well it looks like Emily is doing fine in other threads... as for you, Scaroth, I predict that you'll be chased through time by a man with an eight foot scarf and a bag of jelly babies! smiley - smiley

Well, at least people are okay.

And the scarf was actually thirteen feet long.

Hello, everyone - you can see that my contribution to h2g2 has been sporadic of late. GWP, you are marvellous, only I just haven't said that before. Hail Lucinda - hope all goes well with finals (since finals I believe you have). Scaroth person - feel free to latch on - I'm not really this bizarre in real life. Whilst the Swiss roll idea sounds funny, I couldn't do that one, since I'm still in love with said person. Ahhhhh... I'll live. Never mind. I'm painting lots and reading too many books... is that possible? of course not. Ho hum. Waiting to see if the Society of Amateur Artists will deign to acknowledge my obvious prodigious talent in portraiture (blunt sarcasm, but who cares at 12.15am?). Revising for A-levels. Writing huge art history thingy for spare A-level. Playing Theme Park Inc. too much. Not practising my viola (incidentally, I do like Prokofiev - "Romeo and Juliet" is my 2nd favourite piece of music; Rachmaninov piano concerto number 2 is first, 3rd is Ravel's "Bolero". Oooooh, Puccini - "Madame Butterfly"... how about you, GWP?).

Sorry for the innane ramble. please introduce yourself, dear Scaroth.

Love can be a funny old thing. Funnier if you take my advice concerning the battering of said person with a swiss roll. Or a fish smiley - hsif (If the "smiley" does not work, please feel free to blame my incompetence. If it does then I expect to be worshipped smiley - smiley Same goes for the second one.)

As for introducing myself, I feel my name says it all. I am Scaroth, last of the Jagaroth, otherwise known as Count Scarlioni. Nice to know you.

*hugs Emily* It's very sweet of you to say that smiley - blush, but I'm nothing special. Trust me, the other 99.9% of the female population would agree with me smiley - smiley
It's good to hear that you seem to be making progress, though. We really should swap emails sometime, see if I can't cheer you up. God knows, it's been forever since I was last in the Land of Brum.
And maybe I can lend you my new deluxe illustrated hardback copy of 1984 - I know how much you love your dystopian novels smiley - smiley Me, I prefer Star Trek!

Scaroth: Would you like a jelly baby? smiley - tongueout

Sinking like a Stone...

Deluxe... illustrated... ooooh... but what I really want is my friend's version of "The Neverending Story", printed in red and green and bound like the book in the book...

Scaroth, Last of the Jagaroth

Ah, do not concern yourself with your ramblings. They are actually quite interesting, although you probably realise that and consider me patronising. Many do. It amuses me.

Sadly music is not my "thing", really. Although I think I am vaguely familiar with both the Prokofiev and Puccini pieces of which you speak. Very nice.

Great Waldo Pepper... Thank you so much for the kind offer, but "jelly babies" are not really to my taste. However, this is coming from a being with a head that looks like a plate of spaghetti eyeballing itself.

Could we please put an end to the City of Death references. They will not kill me but they do tend to irritate when almost everybody I come across here uses them.
