Hi GB,
IMO the opening para is somewhat trivial and needs to be placed later in the Entry
I updated beelines Entry on 'Comets-Harbingers of Doom' as 'Comets as Harbingers of Momentous Evenyts' at A3086101.

... in fact, that opening para could come under the Header of 'Supernovae'

I've moved it to the supernova section and replaced it with a verse from a Bruce Springsteen songI don't like it though and will replace it if I find a better bit of poetry.

...actually, the song seems pretty good there. Not as good as if it were an Elvis song, naturally, but still pretty good.
Nice tie-in to history, btw. 1660's, let's see - that would have been about the time many of us fled across the ocean. or were sent. it was a long time ago and i forget which it was. (laugh)
Ahem back to reading.

Cassiopeia is easily found using the Plough, as the Plough points to the North Star, and Cassiopeia is the other side of the North Star from the handle of the Plough.
The Milky Way goes through Cassiopeia.

I gather that King Cephus' Ethiopia should actually be Aethiopia, which was below Libya, and was not the same as modern day Ethiopia.

Thanks IcyI am just adding the quirky (especially for pailaway)

Stop the Presses - in Lapp/Sami mythology, cassiopeia is part of a larger constellation - a moose no less.

excerpt:
'The large constellation, Sarva, the Moose, is composed of several Greek constellations — Cassiopeia, Perseus, and Auriga.'
