Link to A2554157 on the word 'Bedlam' please. There are a few entries which do use the word 'bedlam' to describe uproar, which I thought should link to the entry, but wasn't sure. Any thoughts?

I would have thought some mention of his snooker career wouldn't go amiss, either.

I'm a bit wary of adding this link, as it suggests that the place that Perrott was sent was the Bedlam Hospital in London, when it appears to have been a different Bedlam Hospital.
I'll think about this.

I'm sure when I read that the first time there was mention of the imperial war museum. I didn't read anything else on the entry. If it's a different hospital then no, there's no point to the link. My mistake.

No, the Bedlam described here is in Rome and is now the home of the Italian Parliament.
On your other question, I don't think a link to the Bedlam entry is a good idea when the word is being used to mean uproar. Although it is the origin of the word, that's not explained until very near the end of the entry.
On the other hand, a footnote could be added to the word bedlam in any such entry, explaining the origin of the term and linking to your Bedlam Entry.

The word is in common enough usage it doesn't need explaining so would just be extra work to get in a link which I don't think is needed. Thanks anyway.

Should it not be "John Perrot" with one "t"?

All the references on the web except this one give him as one t. All references to his ancestor also have one t. The author, lash larue, was not a great speller. So I'd say yes it should be Perrot. When I'm at a pc I'll change it.

OK, I've changed all references to "Perrott" to the spelling "Perrot".
