TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

smiley - lighthouseThe <./>SubEditors-Style</.> page has a couple of mistakes on it. Shock!

smiley - moonFirst:

smiley - earthItalicise names of films, TV shows, plays, books, newspapers, magazines, titles of albums (but not singles or individual songs), poems of book length, scientific names (such as Homo sapiens and foreign phrases (but not the ones that have been around for ages and are almost in constant use - café is a good example of this). Also, interestingly, names of ships should be written in italics.

smiley - starYou're missing a closing bracket after Homo sapiens.

smiley - moonSecond:

smiley - star<./>F33588?thread=549396</.>

TRiG.smiley - fullmoon

That F33588?thread=549396 didn't become an automatic link. I had to put the linking code around it (<./>NamedEntries</.&gtsmiley - winkeye. Does anyone have any idea why?

It doesn't have code around it in this post. And yet, in preview at least, it is a link.

TRiG.smiley - huh

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Did you type a space between the smiley and the link? Links don't work unless they have a non-breaking space front and rear, even though they get a space added when it parses:

smiley - star576?thread=576" >F48000?thread=2906820

Well, there's been no editors around to fix it, have there?

(I imagine the curators don't have responsibility for this sort of article, but I could be wrong.)

Curators can't edit Help Pages, and since it's the weekend I wouldn't expect an Editor to be around to deal with it until Monday morning.

Unless they're really, really bored and looking for something to do of a Saturday evening when their date has stood them up and they've been hanging around under the clock at Waterloo Station for an hour and a half and the flowers have wilted and the chocolates have melted and their best suit's starting to look crumpled and they're feeling very glum smiley - winkeye

Um. Since I'm always on at odd times I sometimes forget that most of the life of the site occurs when I'm not around myself. Though I have been on more often recently, 'cause we now have always-on broadband at home!
