If there's an article in the Edited Guide containing information which is just plain wrong, what's the best way of getting it put right? Start a conversation? Send a message to the author?

Which entry is it?

The Editors continually stress that tact is the key here. Confronting the author directly is only likely to be antagonistic, and won't help fix anything anyway.

Your best bet is a thread here (see plenty of those below) or at Update HQ (A496451), but the latter's a bit over-stretched at the minute anyway.

So what's wrong, then? (hoping to hell it's not something I wrote on the spur of the moment)

It depends on exactly what's wrong. If it's a spelling error, then if you give us the A number and the details, then post them here, and we can fix it. We can also change small factual errors this way.

The best thing to do is to let us know the entry and some more details, then we can advise you of the best course of action.
