I'm posting in wonder as to why this entry has been moderated. Neither the author nor I, the sub-editor, have received a moderation email and neither of us can think of any objectionable content therein. There is a poem quoted at the end of the entry, but it was used with permission and has been credited. I feel that it's embarrassing to have an Edited entry that's hidden and think that any objections should have been raised long ago in PR. Both the author and I are also rather annoyed that there is no indication as to what's been done wrong - how can the problem be fixed in that case?

I think I was the one who raised the copyright issue when this was in Peer Review. I haven't been around much lately, but as far as I remember, the copyright issue wasn't sorted out before the entry was picked: it had two versions of the ending, one with a long poem and one with a short quote. I assume you sorted this out while sub-editing? I certainly didn't yikes it, but since I was the one who raised the original copyright objection, naturally I'm curious.

You should really have received an email about this: did you register your account with a different address?

If you haven't heard anything soon I'd email the editors, though of course it's the weekend now and they may not see or read either this thread or their emails until Monday.

I hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later.

I checked my details, Bernadette, and the address there is the one I currently use - I've also checked my old address. I assume that the email would come to me as the editor rather than BigAl.

If neither of us hear anything over the weekend I'll email the italics on Monday.

There seems to be a bug where emails don't seem to be going out - I complained about some messages over christmas, they weren't removed, but I didn't get the email informing me, and I saw someone else mention the same thing lately.

I have told the Eds - I don't know if this is the same thing, that moderation emails aren't going out when content is removed.

We can only apologise for moderation emails not being sent out - we believe that there have been some other incidents like this happening over the past few weeks, and we're looking into it.

Having reviewed this particular moderation decision, we've chosen to overturn the moderators' decision and we've reinstated the Entry.
