Alhough Brian May contributed to that horrible cover of "We will rock you" with Five the biggest possibility for a 'new' Queen has to be... Robbie Williams! Yes I know what you are thinking but its true! He has allready recorded We are The Champions with the rest of the band for a new medievil movie about jousting and rumour has it that he has joined the band! I hope so personally I mean Im not a big Robbie Williams fan at all but the idea of Queen ouring again, you have to admit, it a exciting prospect. I never saw them live myself and I believe Brian May to be the greatest guitarist in the world so... I cant wait!

I never really heard the we will rock you one, but the robbie williams one isn't bad, not someone I would have though of but still................

I don't know why the don't tour as a trio, I mean anyone who 'joins' the band will sooner or later want a career of their own, and will also want to tour as a solo artist, unlees they have someone different each time,

I never saw them live but a cuople of people i work with have and am I jealous

You should be grateful that you never heard the Five "We will rock you"! The best bit was the lead break and that was sung over! I think Queen would work as a trio. After all Brian May and Roger Taylor have both got succesful solo carrers and we know that they can sing so why not?

Ever been to Freddy Murcury's house for the anniversiry of his death? Im supposed to be going this year but Im not sure if the girl I was going to go with is ultra-happy with me at the moment.

I have brain's live album and its very good, quite a lot like queen live, roger did backing vocals and did the vocals for some of his songs anyway, so I don't see why not, but if they want a singer than that's what they want

no I've never been to freddie's house, really would like to go though,

woman trouble hey, mines always trouble, but that's why I married her

I personally dont think they need a new singer... I mean obviously Freddy was AMAZING but in fact Roger Taylor has a great voice and not many people realise that Brian May sang the first verse of "Who Wants To Live For Ever" so... I think it would work but like you said... their choice.

Girl troubles is something Ive always had... this is friend troubles. If you want to talk about girl troubles I can talk for ages... but you probably dont. If ya do go to my journal... I dont mind!!! smiley - smiley

there is the bit in I want it all, in the middle where brian starts I'm a man man.........and freddie takes over for 'do you hear me.... and their voices blend togeather so brian takes over

Roger also sang on invisible mam which I never realised until recenlty

freind or girl trouble I'd stay well away

Like I was saying... Brian May might not have Freddy's voice but his is in actual fact quite close.

I try to keep away where possible my friend, but sometimes I dont want to, ya know?

Brian has a good voice, Roger has an even better voice. But I think that a new singer in Queen would also have to do a lot of showbiz-stuff, the stuff Freddy used to love to do on stage, being theatrical and all... So I can understand why they wouldn't want to tour with Brian of Roger doing the lead vocals.

Robbie Williams is not too bad a singer. He did a surprisingly grown-up show recently("Swing when you're winning", note : *not* "Sing when your winning") in which he proved that he is also capable of doing more than what he has done so far. The only thing is that I have already seen the new Queen-singer... His name is George Michael, and he sang a great version of "Somebody to Love" at the Freddy tribute-concert. As a matter of fact, he was the only one reach all the high notes that Freddy used to be so good at. He should have had the finale. But no...that was reserved for Elton John and Axel Rose(Duh!). Neither of whom could sing Bohemian Rapsody properly. It sounded O.K. until you listened to the original version playing along in your head. With Freddy...

Incidentally : Freddy was George Michael's role-model when he was in his teens. And I have an interview in which Freddy mentions George Michael as his favorite male singer and Aretha Franklin as his favorite female singer. He hoped the Aretha would do "Somebody to love" someday because he wrote it as a gospel-song. And then George Michael sang "Somebody to Love" at the tribute... And proved Freddy right.

BTW : Be careful what you say about Robbie W... I happen to know for a fact that you might p*ss off the Post-editor if you are too negative about him smiley - smileysmiley - winkeyesmiley - devil

Well, Brian has a fine voice but he ain't no Freddy. That would be fine if they would do new material or the older stuff that he used to sing on, but I don't believe he could replace Freddy Mercury as lead-singer on the work that Freddy originally sang. I mean there aren't a lot of people in the world who can sing Bohemian Rhapsody... smiley - winkeye

But as for new material I think that Brian and Roger could sing that, yes. And the upside is that you wouldn't 'hear' Freddy in the background all the time. The guys really shouldn't have to live up to the legacy of Freddy. I think nobody can, he was too unique.
