A Conversation for Roger Taylor of Queen

Where is John?
Hugh Jass Started conversation Jun 3, 2002
A few days ago my workmates and myself were asking "Where the hell is John Deacon?" (Yes we have obscure conversations all the time!). Everytime Roger or Brian are interviewed they either never mention him or skirt around the subject. Even Mark and Lard have been asking him to phone in to their show...
Queen are in the limelight again with Ben Elton's stage production, but John is nowhere to be seen!?! Has there been a big fallout or is he having another perm disaster (radio ga ga video)???

Wouldn't of hurt the old girl to have said "thankyou" at the end of it though...still the fireworks were pretty amazing!
Where are you from Steve?

Seagull's Lost Horizon Posted Jun 4, 2002
yeah i was expecting her to say something , the fireworks were great,
I'm from shropshire.
Where is John?
Seagull's Lost Horizon Posted Jun 7, 2002
shrewsbury to be precise, besides queen i like the beatles pink floyd ocean colour scene, I like sci fi, and you?.
Where is John?
Hugh Jass Posted Jun 7, 2002
Not so hot on Ocean Colour Scene but the rest are cool...
I play bass in a couple of bands (alt.rock; power-pop) and listen to stuff like My Vitriol, The Chameleons, Cocteau Twins, Tool, basically "alternative" stuff. I love Sci-Fi too. Just finished "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"; brilliant! Have you seen the new Star Wars movie?
If so what did you think? Too many questions, sorry...

Seagull's Lost Horizon Posted Jun 7, 2002
i started to teach myself to play the guitar a few years ago, when i was unemployed, but since getting a job and computer i hardly play now, in fact i had a go earlier, and there's a lot I've fogotton, not that i played well before anyway.
yeah i saw star wars last sunday, not bad, not great either. Ther certainly not as good as the original three, the phanton menace wasn't bad a little boring in places, this again wasn't as gopod i felt, but nice to see some of the stuff becomming the stuff in the originals, what do you think?.
I've seen blade runner but didn't like it, but I might read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, I read 2001 and thought the book was exellent.

Hugh Jass Posted Jun 8, 2002
Totally agree about the "new" Star Wars. Special effects aren't the be all and end all of a good movie and I think Mr.Lucas has learn't that from Phantom Menace
; Episode Two is a much better effort. I've got to read 2001 loads of people say how good it is; the film is excellent. Have you read Dune, Steve? Really enjoyed it! How about Iain Banks Sci-Fi novels? Consider Phlebas is bloody brilliant...
What line of work are you in?
Where is John?
Seagull's Lost Horizon Posted Jun 8, 2002
no I've not read dune nor Iain Banks, i sort of go through phases of reading, it was about 3 years ago, when I started to read again with a terry pratchett novel and have been readin them since, besides 2001, lately I've read the road to mars - eric idle, a sherlock holmes, jekyll and hyde, the original planet of the apes novel - very good indeed.
i work in a factory, its not gerat but it pays the bills

Hugh Jass Posted Jun 10, 2002
The only Terry Pratchett book I've read is "Good Omens" which was ok, then I saw the author on tv and thought he was a bit of a dickhead, so I've steered clear of his stuff which is rather pathetic of me, but nevermind maybe I'm just a bit weird...
Nothing wrong with working in a factory, mate! I've been in the Print Trade for over 13 years, and I'm dying to get my own editing business going; it'll happen one day.
Where did you get your researcher name from? Mines from the Simpsons (my real name's Jim).
Where is John?
Seagull's Lost Horizon Posted Jun 11, 2002
not really seen much of terry pratchett, but there are a few people i don't like so much but like what they do michael jackson for instance.
my name, it sort of came about I'd been wanting one for a while and used a couple of names for other places when i came up with this.
