Mom's been taken into the local hospice today. She's got another chest infection and is rough. Pa can't cope due to his own failing health and the medication Mom's on is causing her to become confused. At least I hope it's the meds.

I'll know more tomorrow when I've spoken to the hospice and they've had chance to assess her.

At least she is in hospital, where they can monitor her continually; it's very worrying when you are watching somebody trying to breathe.

Does she understand what's going on? Are you able to visit?

Annie, don't let it get to you love. Pain, yes, but also strength. We will all get through this, so long as we have caring friends we can be honest with; the carers need caring for too sometimes & that's where people like you come in.

I managed to speak to mom today, I was actually trying to speak to her doctor but when they put me through she was in mom's room and so I couldn't get the answers to the questions I wanted to ask.

Mom sounds very frail & says she's feeling rough but that we're not to go rushing down 'cos she's not ready to go yet. She's got some crocheting to finish

It isn't a chest infection causing the problems, it's the cancer. We're going down tomorrow & seeing the specialist on Monday. The good thing is that Mom's not in any pain and is sleeping more and more. I may not be about for a while.
