My mom was rushed into hospital today after collapsing this morning. She's got a severe chest infection and is very anaemic. They are giving her blood & antibiotics.
I may not be about much for a while.

Thanks all, panic's over for the time being. She's well enough to be fed up with looking like Bart Simpson & has ordered a long list of things she wants Pa to bring in to her, including her hair brush As she's not going to be out until Monday at the least she's included her knitting & crochet.
She'll have the ward redecorated with knitted tinselly things in no time.
Isn't it amazing what 4 units of blood, a whammy of intravenous antibiotics, a saline drip & some potassium can do

Wal, ah'd tell ya, but then ah'd hafta shoot ya!
Dr. McGuillicuddy's Fireball is a naturally flavoured, hot cinnamon-y corn whiskey.
Quite nice on those cold, dreary long nights here in the Great White North.

I prefer a hot with melting marshmallow topping.
My "fire water" is Malibu, which is on offer at almost half-price, so I've treated myself to 2 bottles to last me over
Good to hear Great-Granny Weatherwax's getting better, GW
Wishing everyone good health and happiness

We celebrated too soon.
Mom is still in hospital, they've moved her from the Medical Assessment Unit to a ward now. The oncologist has ordered a different type of scan as she thinks there's a likelihood of Mom having an pulmonary embolism. They've started her on blood thinning medication already. Chemo has stopped for the 'time being' and she's going to have a blast of radiotherapy.
Mom won't be out of hospital for Christmas and there is a possibility that she won't be out again.
Pa doesn't want me to go down to see her before I was scheduled, Tuesday next week as (a) it would panic Mom and (b) he wants me to spend the time with my grandchildren.
I feel so helpless.
The only piece of good news is that the tumour isn't growing.
