I agree, I agree, I agree!.... Actually, since I left England in 1975, it is conceivable that Anstey has more amenities than when I left - I was a South Knighton girl myself and my partner hails from South Wigston, but his parents have now moved to something called Anstey Heights! What's that? A new bit? Anyway, living in Perth, Australia I must admit that I miss the nice pubs in Leicestershire, I miss the history of England but thats about all (oh and seeing Leicester City nearly but not quite achieving their full potential)
Cheers

Hiya,
Sadly, Anstey Heights is a new bit of Beaumont Leys, lurking between the Walkers crisp factory and the Beaumont Leys shopping centre.
All I can say about Anstey is it's still got a bloody good chip shop, has recently acquired a Curry house, and is still the nearest set of cashpoint machines near to Groby, Ratby, Cropston and so on.
Cheezy Snax.

UPDATE: The chip shop has gone under a new ownership, and although I don't want to damage anyone's business it's no where near as good as it used to be.
Key: Complain about this post
