Anstey

2 Conversations

An averaged sized village, somewhere outside Leicester. It is one of those places with a lot of local history. It has all the usual hall marks of a subrural community, an amateur dramatics society, a Gala, and of course, the Annual Duck Race.
People here tend to celebrate their birthdays by plastering posters to every lamp post they can find saying "BOB IS 57 TODAY!!!" Although pretty large as far as villages go, the only place really worth note is the Nook, where the usual convenience stores, newsagents, post offices and opticians are.
There's a pub, full of old men, and just outside the convenience store is a congregation of teenagers, saying that Anstey is a hole and that they'll get out soon as they get the chance. Fifty years from now they'll be some more old men in the pub...
