Now, my opinion is that one of the most important characteristics for a winning song is to have a catchy, sing-along refrain. Which is why I think Loreen was a worthy winner - I've been howling along in the refrain of Euphoria a number of times
These are notes I make to keep track of the songs I think fit in or not.
Austria: no
Estonia: no
Slovenia: hmmmm... maybe
Croatia: no, although I like the folk music style - and is that 9/8 or not? Never quite managed to get my head around that specific rhythm...
Denmark: yes, and a bit folkie too - also, a good voice
Russia: not a sing-along song despite two of the songwriters/composers being Swedish
Oh my, past Swedish contributions; tight pink manchester pants on a man? Matched with top in same colour and a dark purple jacket
Ukraine: nice song, but can I sing along? No.
Netherlands: beautiful song, but the verse feels stronger than the refrain? No.
Montenegro: no, too much of too many different things, although the Carneval of Venice was a nice thing.
Lithuania: no
Conclusion: Denmark is the best in my opinion in this batch of 10 contributions.
To be continued...

I heard the UK's sad offering last week. I don't think they'll be troubling the scorers this year.
