So, here's my first attempt:

Gathers like a mist of indigo
-- upon the earth
And houses below
Soft and tender, as if by Divine hands
Hiding from sight the distant ocean strands
All is close, yet all is far away
-- all that's given
Is temporary
All is mine; all will be taken back

The trees, the clouds, the very ground I pace
-- I will wander
Lone, without a trace

I'm currently contemplating it, I'll copy it to my Palm so that I can read it through whenever I want to...
I like the last line:
I will wander
Lone, without a trace
There was something about it... oh, yes - indigo rhyming with below feels a bit odd regarding the stress...
...and then there's away and temporary...
