Having had to deal with corporate ideas of facts and truth...
and I am not confusing the two...do you have some way of keeping your bubble centered when dealing with new information?

Sorry for the late reply, I've only just found this. Keeping the bubble centred? My advice to all those who used to troop into my office with programme ideas hoping for a documentary commission was to say "don't worry about what I want, that is my job, you work out only what you want to do, and if you stick to that through thick and thin, AND it fits into to what the ITV schedule wants you'll have cracked the system and have the chance of producing a great programme." I gather that today's media commissioning editors take a very different viewing - telling producers up front what they want - but its one of the very few bits of my own advice that I've managed to follow.
Any help?

I think you answered half of what I was trying to ask, which was how you managed to keep sane in the midst of sometimes opposing elements.
That's what I meant by "Bubble centered".
In the midst of what you "do", who you "are" is what you take home with you.
But, come to think of it, I believe you have answered the question, regardless of how badly I stated it and how poorly I remember my state of mind at the time I asked it.
Thank you.
