I just like the dark blue...'tis my fav. colour 
Admittidly, I used to use Ala
when it first came out...God knows how I used it with my eyesight 
Then I remembered Goo...and my life got better once I changed back
I hope I am forgiven, because I now HATE ala with a passion ! YOU A-WOTSITS ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WITH IMPERFECT EYESIGHT...

The goo looks much more like I would imagine the Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy would look like. It gives a feeling of depth and makes more sense of the thousands of links within h2g2. It looks more spacey but it is friendlier than black.
Therefore it is better.
