Water Games: Freestyle Swimming
Bluebottle Started conversation Jul 30, 2012
The first event in the Olympic-sized swimming pool had to be swimming, and one competitor will win Gold. But is the idea to swim a single length as quickly as possible, or is it an endurance race? And did I remember to switch the pool's new Tsunami-strength wave machine off its timer?

*sneaks in and starts quietly dog paddling a length, hoping the head start gives her a chance of gold*

*looks suspiciously at the water and then sits on the side with only her toes in the pool*

nearly there , got distracted by the volunteers handing out cocktails at the half way point
is Peanut going to bring home a Gold for Goo

Well – Poohsticks is taking place over here: F44379?thread=8295359 but there's still everything to play for in the swimming to see who gets the silver. (Not that we have a silver... Hmmm...) At this stage it looks like Dr Anthea.

Is there an organiser around.
I want to know if the earflap stroke is legal in the freestyle or would it be unfair to other competitors.
Wraps around midrift after the diving event.

It is Freestyle, so as long as you get from one side of the pool to the other using only your body (not oars, floats, boats or engines etc) and not touching the bottom, pulling yourself along the sides or the ropes, everything is allowed!

Keep the duck handy - it can be used for other events. For example, it would be a great partner in the Beach Volleyball.

In fact, does the duck have any experience in synchronised swimming?

Sets up cauliflower ears ready for the freestyle back butterfly earflap stroke.
Two widths of the pool - Hey they have put the ropes the wrong way round. As Anthea's duck is not allowed, how can I duck under the ropes Ears flapping, jumps out of the pool and wraps around ones self.
Gets a battery operated speed boat and starts playing.

Has a second attempt as the ropes have been lifted.
Gets ready for a task of backward cauliflower ear Stroke
Into the second width going for Gold.
Hey whats that: Its a
Does an impossible out of pool right into Anthea's lap.
ishly asks <BB< to look into this infringement.
Asks to look at vegimn's big body bite. Will she fill the wound with clay or try and paint over it?

Peanut Posted Aug 4, 2012
hmm Anthea has a secret composite for fixing things like cows udders and stuff she probably use that
I would have really liked a gold medal but in all fairness I have to say that vegiman's performance is of a gold standard that impossible out of pool in slowmo defies all laws of physics and will go down as an all time classic I'm sure

awe thankee Peanut, but the out of water dive half way through the swim, disqualifies me.
Three for the one and only Peanut for achieving the best time so far on the way to Waterworks Games Gold Medal.
Does anyone know how to get the out of the pool. I think it just swallowed a diver who dived from the spring board into its open mouth

I agree totally , shall I get off your lap now?

you will see that the is now keeping a respectful distance, it was part of the (double)act, diving into the mouth like that
niether diver nor enjoy the whole process of vomming diver back up after the performance but their stunt is a hell of show stopper, don't you think?
*wonders who is going to get the sick out of the pool*
I am a bit concerned that Dmitri has encouraged everyone to don their swimsuits with the around though, prehaps we should quickly award them the gold medal for diving and they will depart

According to HRASC (A229303) it is the wearing of swimming costumes that causes attacks. As long as everyone, including the inflatable duck, removes all swimming costumes from the vicinity, the will get bored and wander off.
Fortunately the diving has a separate pool, as does the Waterslide – the Waterslide competition is now taking place here: F44378?thread=8295563
