I am grateful I was not on this jury (just concluded) http://www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk/Adam-Vincent-murder-trial-Victim-s-family-weep/story-14973179-detail/story.html it's a local man who was murdered and dismembered, body parts scattered all over our county. smiley - ill The trial has lasted 7 weeks, it was held in Sheffield.

I don't think jurors get anything in Ireland, although I could be wrong.

It's a daily allowance for lunch & drinks, I'm getting £5.71 a day for up to 10 hours, but it's more for longer than that, £12.17 a day.

If you are self-employed they cover your lost pay, (I think).

£5.71 for turning up, the rate went up after 10 hours (I was never there ten hours).

"Yes, we found someone guilty."

Well, let's just hope it was the person in the dock and not some random person who happened to be walking through court smiley - winkeye

(sorry, couldn't resist the use of 'someone' like that!)
