This year's World Health Day theme is road safety.

So, be careful out there and keep an extra eye out for others' safety too.

Ku'Reshtin (Bring the beat back!)

Having been riding motor cycles for about 13 years (well, I've had the licence for about that long anyways) has made me so much more conscious of what other people are doing when I'm driving, whether it's on a bike or in my car. It stems from the notion that on a motorcycle, you have nothing to protect yourself if something should happen, other than a helmet and possibly the leathers, so you tend to make a point of actually keeping track of what others are doing.

As my old pappy used to say: "When riding a motorcycle, just think that everyone else out there are numpties that can not be trusted, so be prepared for any hare-brained manouver they could possibly make, no matter how improbable."

Works well for cars as well...smiley - smiley

smiley - yikes I'm glad she's ok, pheloxi!

Ku'Reshtin, my Dad says pretty much the same thing. I'm driving him round now {he's 86} and he's appalled at the ignorance of some drivers. He recalls the days when cars used to stop to let a person cross the road, whether there was a zebra crossing close by or not - and drivers behind used to wait patiently.

The only good thing about nostalgia is the memories it invokes.

in the the Dutch law say that zebra path without traffic lights for the walkers, the walker always go first, but if road is straight you can better watch out as a walker. I live near street with zebra without light where do park unload on the zebra. very nice since there is school too!
