h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

hmmmm, ok just come back from town, finished work at a lovely pub at 12 and went to a bar for some drinks... some of my friends were there and 2 of them had spent the whole night staring at these 2 girls all night... they were extremely drunk but too scared to go and talk to them... I still dont get that, if you like someone, GO AND TALK TO THEM, the worst thing they could do is say go away. no big deal really.

After having 10 minutes of my friends constantly bickering about these girls i got really annoyed and went over to the girls.

My plan Was to say that i had 2 friends who were shy but really wanted to meet them... but i think my evil streak kicked in, and i said " Hi sorry to bother you but, my 2 friends over there have been watching you all night, and havent stopped talking about you since i got here" i pointed over to the 2 hopeful batchelors, the girls actually seemed quite interested, until i said" Yeah basically, Lukes just split up with his girlfriend because his ex girlfriend was stalking them, and Dave is such a lovely guy, hes just desperate...

Anyway... the bizarre thing is after this, luke and dave went to chat to them and about 20 minutes later, luke came up to me and thanked me for "breaking the ice"...

bit of a strange night really.. went to a bar where i knew nearly everyone there... kinda good and bad. It seems everyones treating me like im their brother haha its hard to explain, but its starting to piss me off.. Its like im a twisted and dark parody of Mr.popular

When im introduced to new people, they get told how lovely and funny i am, and so i just close up and stop talking. Its like being told that a song your just about to listen to is great and you'll love it, but with me having to think of it and then play it in front of you.

Theres only a small group of friends who i truly am myself with. With the rest i just seem to put on a facade, constantly happy, nice and sometimes funny.

Life is f****d up, is anyone who they really are?

Life is f****d up. And that's just how it is......

But SOME people are who they really are, and who you think they are, you know. And if you're willing to admit that life gets a lot better and easier....... but you have to give them a chance first.
