on boredom: im going to a party in london on monday. i have a sneaking suspicion that the girl who invited me fancies me. but i think she only fancies me platonically. she certainly wont in any other way when she sees the beard im growing. i hope she does fancy me, but i also hope she doesnt. the does bit is purely egotistical. the doesnt bit is due to the fact that, much as i like her, i fancy her a lot less than certain other girls who i know. the trouble with that is that these other girls dont fancy me. ive also just had an invitation to write scripts for dawsons creek. strange, and also false. i could do it quite well however, dont you think?
either she does like me, or she just likes having an outsize pillow in bed next to her. yes, weve been to bed. three times. no sexual contact at all. just chat, and then sleep. (THIS IS NOT DUE TO IMPOTENCE ON MY BEHALF) how cool is that? well, its very odd. and who says women are hard to read?
hidden shallows, eh?

UH with a beard That I want to see.
I spent a whole year in a platonic relationship with a woman. We shared a bed many times, and I found it as fulfilling as any other relationship I've ever had

Good luck honey, one of us needs it and I believe that it all falls on your shoulders, so go pull, beard or no beard.

I can see you as the next teen-heartthrob
Beard...ugh. Lose it, unless it's something which looks like you've put thought into it. If it's just random hair, then ugh.
Platonic friendships with the opposite sex are fantastically great and fun, up until the point where one fancies the other and it's not reciprocated. If you're both clear on the friendship thing, then it's awesome!

OMG that is so true Cafram! So true. And you are right about the beard too!
Best of luck UH, I hope it turns out how you want it to.

Beard or no beard if she fancies you she probably still will...
but honey please, I at your feet, shave, designer stubble's okay, but come on, you've told me yourself you don't look right with a beard.
Platonic Friendships...I'm sure they can be great, I however can't be very faithful on this fact at the moment.

To be fair, there are some female beard fans on h2g2, but I am not one of them.
Ditch it! It's for the best!

I know guys who just look wrong without their beards now, Fisail and Grant for two and they've both got girlfriends who like them.
Personally, beards don't do anything for guys, just obscures them.

They're just shaggy and nasty, really. They can make a guy look older, but it usually makes him look like a dirty old man, rather than a nice looking older guy
(Hey KC )

I look like a dirty old man? Just the look I was trying for!
Why oh why did I submit myself for this sort of abuse?

Don't worry KC, I'm sure you look great, like I said, I don't really like beards on guys, but I know lots of guys who they really suit and now I'd think it strange for them not to have them

Thanks Emily but no, I don't But hey, there's one person who likes it and that's *more* than enough to ocnvince me that being lazy and not shaving is okay Frankly, it could be some random rambling drunkard and I'd take that as enough of an excuse
It is?!?! Oh no! *rushes off to shave* Can't be having with my being fashionable!
