Sho - employed again! Posted Mar 19, 2014
basically they are now going to try to arrange my team so that I can take over some controlling responsibilities - it's difficult for them because they changed me from sales to accounting for one specific reason, gave me the compliance job on top (I like that) and now they find they "have" to promote me as a reward for service / good work
It's a very long story and people here who have been subscribed to my journal have had the visual equivalent of having their ears bent about it for years.
I will be asking about money because - well, I work for money not love
More or fewer hours is not really here or there for me I've been salaried for years - I'm involved in a working group to find a consistent way that salaried employees can get rid of some overtime hours (by taking time in lieu) that doesn't make most of the managers pop an artery that someone is leaving the office at, say, 3pm instead of 9pm on one day...
but for now I'm just going to enjoy it - especially nice to see how many people have personally congratulated me with what looks like real feeling, even though I don't know who they are! (everyone however does know me...)

Congrats, Sho. It really is about time you were promoted, and hopefully you'll get the commensurate pay raise. I hope your suggestion to enable managers to work less overtime will be taken seriously. If there's one thing I hate, it's doing a ton of "charity work" for my employer. I worked an average of eight hours a week of overtime in February, but never stayed till 9 PM. I just come home, make dinner, eat, then log in to the system from home and work till I fall asleep at the monitor.
Our annual pay raises are supposed to be on this Friday's payroll, and I haven't even had a performance appraisal yet. My supervisor is so inconsistent.

this year they really kept to the schedule which surprised everyone - including the HR management team.
I've stopped logging in from home - when I was in sales operations it was relatively (very) easy for me to work from anywhere but now I count beans it's all paper and it's all on my desk. Which is a pain because I had been working up to a "one day home office" schedule and had just about convinced everyone that it was possible.
Oh well.
Pressing my thumbs for you, PC, it really is more than annoying when these things drag out for no apparent reason

I'm delighted to hear that you've finally got some recognition for all you do for your company. The small amount I know about you always seems to show dedication and professionalism. I'm always admiring your stickability to earning more qualifications. I'm a lightweight in comparison. Your new status is totally well deserved. Congratulations!!
