The older I get, the less it seems to really matter what it says on my birth certificate.

But Happy Birthday to Gruesome Number One!smiley - magic

Mol - on the new tablet

I'd forgotten you and I both had a very ... large ... Christmas 1996. Nod will be 17 on Saturday. She's dancing around going 'I'm nearly 17!' while I'm astonished to find I have a practically grown-up daughter. We worked out today she'll be able to vote in the next general election.

So - I feel your pain ...

Mol

Seriously though, when your eldest becomes an adult it has the unwanted effect of shunting you into an older generation, whether you're ready for it or not. I do remember the odd feeling. But it was so far back now it's worn off.smiley - hug

Yeah, it's like that smiley - bigeyes

Not that It bothers me. Much. In fact it sort of takes some burden off one's shoulders, I'd say. Gradually. I still worry for them, of course, but there is this growing consciousness of not being able to doing anything about anything anyway. That relaxes me smiley - zen

Right, enough of that, there's a reason for a party for Bob's sake!

I always forget that too, Mol smiley - magic
#1 has much better birthdays now, I feel, than when she was small. Plus there are always fireworks in honour of the occasion.

ah the good ol' days! smiley - winkeye

I think it will be worse for me when my #2 hits 18. My mum is having similar feelings with me just having turned 50, she said that wasn't so bad but when my baby Bro gets there in a few years I think she'll also have one of those moments when you get brought up short.

You can call me TC

My youngest is 25 like smiley - pirate's. And now I'm a grandmother to be and I am finding that the older I get the harder it is to decipher my birth certificate. Whatever.

Happy birthday, Gruesome!

I think she meant 'fortisan'

It was a fad - my parent's generation. My mum had a tin of it. It was disgusting stuff.
