Gnomon - time to move on

There was a heavy snowfall in Dublin on 8 January 1982. Would that be the one you're remembering, KB?

the only reason it took me so long, to be fair, is that it about 10 minutes after I left my office the 2nd snowstorm really picked up.

Still, I should be glad, the Autobahn is pretty good, and even though we don't often get a lot of snow (and it was only about 10cm... but that's a huge amount for us on one day when up to now it's been sort of sunny autumnal weather) everything worked pretty well. I've been in the car for much longer when snow has suddenly come down.

I have all sorts of useful stuff in my car, blanket, shovel etc, also a wind up LED lantern which is a new thing for me this year (I only usually have torches) and I almost want to have to use it smiley - smiley

Today it's been between -8 and -10 for most of the day, so we don't have slush, we don't have more snow and it's sunny so everything looks lovely. And as a nice extra birthday pressie my smiley - chef helped me empty the garage of bikes and wheely bins, so I can park my car and won't have to scrape and scratch it next week when the snow comes back smiley - snowballsmiley - llabwons

Gnomon, I think that must be right. The photos are Polaroids, which means they must date from the window in time between us getting the new Polaroid camera and its novelty wearing off, or the price of Polaroid film putting us off using it. smiley - laugh
