this is probably one of my last w**k related journals. Well, maybe not, we'll see.
So, where was I? Oh yes, my boss (in Turkey) wanted me to go to Turkey for a week which i'd rejected out of hand.
So after I got back from 2 weeks in the UK I discovered that the two newbies in Turkey had been sent for a few days to my office where my useless side-kick taught them some bad habits.
As soon as I got back the side-kick got herself written off sick for the month end, then again this week (turns out she's having a baby, so now it's all taking it easy, long lunch breaks and the rest of the things that give normal working mums a bad name)
er...
I'm off to Istanbul for a week on Monday, and after that I'll be supporting the Turkish girls until the end of the month, then I'll have to change my job.
They've offered me something in accounting which isn't the one I applied for before (and the Sales managers put the kybosh on that because I was so vital and so valuable to sales ). The job on paper looks ok-ish, but that's an end to any promotion hopes I had (the boss isn't keen on women, and I'll be changing my job so a promotion is highly unlikely) and more and more the assistants in that team keep saying things like "haha, you'll be taking over this crap when you come to us"
I don't like their attitude, and I'm wondering if I want to join them after all.

I hope you can stick it out while you look for something else?
I really, really hate working with people like that.

thanks, both. I think this is going to have to be a case of "suck it up" for at least a while. It's not going to be easy to find a job, especially at my age.

Experience has got to count for something, though. You've toppled the Berlin Wall already!

You can call me TC Posted Sep 8, 2012
No, KB,not in Germany.
Better the devil you know - even if it's for the final 20 years of your working life - than the devil you don't.
sorry I'm a bit sozzled and may regret all postings I make tonight.

you're fine TC - talking complete sense to me.
Here in Germany if you don't have a piece of paper from some school/college saying that you have EXACTLY the qualification the employer wants, they won't even read your CV...
That is if they haven't looked at the photo and chucked it on the No pile because you look too old, female or whatever...
