Yay, dogs!

Another dog-lover. I've had three dogs over the years. The last one (her name was Krokus - the best dog in the world) died a couple of years ago. I don't know what breed she was. Heinz-57, I suppose. I think she had a bit of coyote in her.
My friends think I'm a bit strange because whenever I'm walking around with one of them, I'll be pointing out all the dogs.
Unfortunately, I currently live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets. One day (when I have a house) I'll get another dog. Still haven't decided what breed yet, although I'm currently leaning towards a basenji (preferably one with no trace of alpha dog behaviour).
What kind of dogs do you have? What are their names?

Waste of space? Little git? I'm sure you mean that in an endearing way.
German shepherds are great dogs. I wouldn't mind a medium size dog. I used to hang out at a dog day-care centre (where a friend of mine worked), and one day there was a great dane in there. This dog was a complete suck and he had this wierd "leaning" behaviour where he'd sidle over to you and lean on you - hard. He eventually "leaned" me across the room into a wall. Too big a dog for me, but he was very lovable. Big, flappy jowls, and all that.

I have a rather old dog called "cobber", though she is not australian. She is a heinz 57 dog but although
thirteen and a half years old, she still likes to play! My sisters love her dearly, especially when they have to look
after her when I am away.

My dog, Krokus, was also a heinz 57. She was pretty old when she died although I'm not sure just how old she was since we got her from the SPCA (she was already at least a couple of years old and had clearly been abused by her previous owner since she cowered if anyone so much as raised there voice or made a sudden move).
She got better, though. In the end, she just couldn't walk or even stand anymore and we had to have her put to sleep. This just broke my heart because her mind was still sharp as a tack.
