Saw an interesting and very unusual cloud formation Sunday the 5th of July, north of the Orocopia Mts and at a considerable distance, a tropical thunderhead, with a globular core surrounded by a lenticular mass of cumulo-cirrus, shaped rather like the Sombrero Galaxy, just after sunset and just before nightfall.
It was dropping some visible rain just before darkness, which was evaporating before it hit the ground.
After dark made an unusual lightning display, with the globular core and lenticular halo alternately lighting up as bright as a flashbulb.
Unfortunately too distant to photograph with my camera.

Hi Bob, you should submit your article to PR, as I am not qualified to give an opinion, I know nothing of physics and colour wavelengths etc. Good luck with it!
