Track that cuckoo - Kaspar's off! To Belgium?

Post 1

This http://www.bto.org/science/migration/tracking-studies/cuckoo-tracking is fantastic. Zooming in on their individual maps shows you exactly where they are.

It's amazing how far they can get in a day if they're minded to. Like Clement. Zipped off to central France, then to Bugundy, now he's outside Marseilles after stopping and doodling about a bit enjoying the local woodlands(reminded me of Never Starting Story travel).

My smiley - 2cents are on Clement to get to Africa first. Chris seems to have lost his nerve when he got to the seaside. Don't know what Kaspar's thinking. An industrial estate on the edge of Antwerp?

I want wings.

Hi there Waz! This is fascinating! I put this on my Favourites list so I can check it from time to time to see how they're doing. Thanks!

Lay off my cuckoos Rev! Have some smiley - cake!

Glad you like the site Willem smiley - smiley. My opinion of Kaspar's risen - he's now not far from Venice and seems to have flown straight over the middle of the Alps.

The first cuckoo I ever saw was near Venice - on one of the other islands. Maybe his great Grand-dad.

Thanks for that Waz. I had something about that from BTO but I have been pre-occupied and didn't follow it up. Like Willem it is now smiley - bookmarked for future interest.

(rev, I know, it was only a mock smiley - cross at the very idea of eating cuckoos.)

I think Kasper and Clement were neck and neck in crossing the Sahara, while Lyster's still in Norfolk! My sympathy's with Martin and Chris though, loitering in northern Italy.

Martin's moved down to the southern tip of Italy and looks as though he might head for Libya despite it being a no-fly zone. He was down as a sensible cuckoo, but now I have doubts.

Loitering Lyster is in danger of missing the boat.
