The world can't be going so wrong when there are still Tallow Chandlers’ Beadle's Under Beadles about.
Neat person spec. The manner and bearing to serve and impress, computer-literate, energy and physical fitness to move furniture and other artefacts.
Other artefacts?

Where on earth did you get this from@
It us a quite delicious post. I wish I could apply for it. !!
It sounds as if it should be with candles - but is obviously a lot more than that.
Well done, my friend.

I think I found it in a flyer in a charity finance newsletter. Good, isn't it? They used to be about candles - formed by tallow melters in 1300(ish) to regulate candle making with animal fat. From their website "By 1415 tallow candles played a key role in the compulsory street lighting for the City of London."
Perhaps, climate-change and all, we should go back to candle lit streets. Animal fat's a renewable resource. You listening Gordon? Boris?

Busy little Bee,
How are you?
So much to do - so little time!
I have just had a nice chat to Hypatia. She is a dear person.
Go well, and hoping to hear from you soon.
How are your family?
Have you been watching the documentary on St. Kilda? Is that one of the islands that you visited?

Hi both . The family are all well Christiane, I'm glad to say. Though my brother has been staying in a tent in a field in Wales - I've no idea why but it doesn't say much for his sanity. And I haven't been to St Kilda - wish I had. And Hyp is indeed a dear person, who it's really good to hear from again.
Hyp, I love that there Under Beadles around, and organisations like that, but dealing with such Traditional Values every day would drive me nuts. Besides, it's in London and I'm more firmly put in Shropshire than ever.
I read your 'Give me a break' journal, btw. And had to laugh though it must have been horrid being woken like that. I could hear your undetected sarcasm, and picture how you must have looked when they didn't get it

Dear Hyp and Waz,
That is the price of being an IMPORTANT AND RESPONSIBLE PERSON. dear Hypatia.
You must be tolerant of lesser ordinary mortals. !!/
Sp speaketh the aged one.
I am just trying to come to terms with the worst news I have ever had in my life. And it is not to do with illness.
Just pray that I have the courage to get over it.
with affection
and btw, I am not mentioning it anywhere else.

You have immense courage, I am so sorry you need to call on it again.
If it helps, remember the universe out there is infinitely bigger than us, than anything we can know, or do, or anything anyone else can do, and is full of breath-takingly beautiful things.
And take care,
Waz
