... everyone a good day tomorrow, whether it's Christmas day to you or not. For me it is, and is the day of the year most focused on sharing, giving and wishing well. So whatever your beliefs, whatever your situation, I wish anyone reading this, and friends in particular, well and that there is good in tomorrow for you.
(Even you, Mr Trump. I know you're not reading, but never mind that. I wish that your plans, you know the ones I mean, don't happen but I wish you personally no ill. It was your virtual toe I chucked in the cauldron. And virtual fillet of golfer too.)
Just to wish...

Thanks all, . Christmas was good. It had all those things. (Except eggnog, I don't think I've ever had eggnog or I even know exactly what it is. I've just sort of assumed I knew generally what it was. New Year's resolution: find out ))
Here's wishing 2008 brings something good to everyone. And if doesn't feel in the slightest realistic to hope 2008 will be good throughout and the world over, I still hope it's good and the world goes further forward than it slips back.
to more forward than back in 2008, and some heart's desires to all friends.

Hi Waz,
Happy New Year to you.
I am afraid that egg nog does not enter in one of my favourite drinks!!
I look forward to a continued friendship. I have rwritten to you and asked you where you are actually living now. But no reply!!
Are you still next to your sister?
Off to Folkestone today for three days. Lots to do. Sadly a significant disappearance of all family members. !! Fortunately I have some wonderful friends. !
With much affection
Christiane and K.

Here's to continued friendships , Christiane.
Did you email or post here, I wonder - I haven't seen you ask but I've not been around much this last couple of weeks. Either way, I haven't moved and am pretty much fixed here in Shropshire.
To me, I'm an hour and ten minutes drive from my sister. To her, it's just a bicycle ride . Next is relative! An hour might be next door from an American perspective, I wish I were closer.
All the best for the move. You might see some rough seas down there this next couple of days.
Take care,
Waz

Thank you dear Waz,
We have already seen some rough seas - fortunately not very high winds!!. K. loves the sea and knows it's moods. There were pretty furious waves rolling in.white capped and flowng. We watched with awe and amazement as they tumbling in - literally at our feet. We are on the fourth floor.
Sadly however I have not managed to see a ship yet. I thought I saw a headland, and lights on it. In the morning it proved to be the bar on my window, and goodness knows where the lights came from !!
I thought you lived NEXT DOOR to your sister and mother.
Anyway,n you know you are always welcome - are you planning to go to Spain this year? I would like to hear more about your travels there - or to the Hebrides. Wenever I hear that name I think of your and your travels.
Some one asked me how I found TV. so riveting. I replied that it was because I could experience so much that I have never done myself. I have climbed the Himalaya, shivered in the Antartic - and the North Pole, I have scuba dived with the best of them, played tennis at Wimbledon, raced at Monte Carlo. The only thing I have only done once and that is, to have played world championship bridge. I loved kibbutzing at the Wrold Championships some time ago. I must find out if they are going to be televised this year - if they are on!!.
All good wishes to you and yours for a happy.fulfilling and much Scottish dancing in 2008.And I am hoping to go both to Beijing this year and and the Olympic Games in London in 2012
Wonderful. Merveilleux! Wonderbar!
With affection

Egg Nog? Here's a delicious recipe for it:
2 cups coconut milk
2 cups half and half cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups rum--or spirits of your choice
4 egg yolks
cinnamon and nutmeg to taste--we like quite a bit of cinnamon
Put all ingredients into a blender jar and then add as much vanilla ice cream as you can without overflowing the jar.
Blend. Store in refrigerator until ready to drink.

Christiane, perhaps there were lights out at sea beyond the bar on the window? I envy you being able to see the sea.
My parents are almost next door, they're just half a mile away.
I should be going to Spain at the end of March, must book the tickets! The Hebrides are probably off this year because we're thinking of trying for Iceland again. I'm not thinking about it until it happens though. Not after last time when J was ill and we needed to cancel with less than a week to go.
There are some things best done from an armchair - shivering at the North Pole is one !
I put up a link to some photos of the last Hebrides holiday - I don't know if you saw that? Not as good as TV but it takes more than words to share those islands.
Lady C - that eggnog sounds really good. I'd no idea there was coconut milk etc in it. Is ice cream always added? Or is that an optional extra? Mind you, the only way a can of condensed milk would last to be made into something would be if I bought two...

All egg nog doesn't have coconut milk in it, but the one Lord C. makes does. I imagine the ice cream would be optional.
Key: Complain about this post
