First attempt at HDR sunset from Weymouth

I'm starting to get into the swing of post-production of my holiday photos. This 'un's the first - and it's not perfect so I've some kinks still to iron out, but let me know what you think.

Thanks.

I wasn't happy with a few odds and sods, so went back in and fixed 'em.

Can't. Stop. Tinkering.

This is I think the best version so far, I've improved the foreground to make it more visible, done some hue/saturation wokr to remove the overblown reds and and brightened the whole image finsihed off with some more dodge/burn work - and NOW I think it's finished.

Gah!
Amputate my hands and cut out my eyes. I keep on tinkering!
I found a great over orange satin overlay that just made the image so much warmer and brought it to life, and I de-saturated some reds and purples that were making the shadows rather more lively than they ought to be.
So this is now I reckon the best version of the photo I've produced. And I must stop here or else I'll keep on editing it still further!!!

Flicking between them: it's impressive how much variation there is. Not sure which I like the best (your choice of file names was revealing).

I definitely prefer the final edit.
I've had a number of people point out to me the waves are purple. Being colourblind I find that rather hard to correct becuase I can;t see purples. but that apart, I think I've got the right level of brightness tone and colours in the majority of the image.
Here are two of the original exposures so you can see how much editing I did.
