Book of the Future

Post 1

Ashley

Hello all,

For the next seven weeks I shall be working on Book of the Future - aiding in the launch and maintenance of that DNA site.

I dshall however be working one day a week on h2g2 so all is not lost. I shall still be nurturing the Edited Guide and helping the UG find its feet - promise.

And I shall most definitely be back.

Any questions, then fire away.

Ashley

That's what i thought. In that case, what do you mean by "aiding in the launch"? Is there expected to be a lot of work to do after the book is published? because 7 weeks puts you well after the 31st.

Because British books tend to be less expensive than American books (or at least were, the last time I checked), it's often not any more expensive to buy a book from Amazon.co.uk, deal with the currency exchange, and have it shipped to the US, than buy a book from Amazon.com and have it shipped domestically. Of course, that's assuming you go with the cheapest shipping costs for both. I buy books from London pretty often -- it's not really any more expensive than buying from New York, but because I pick the cheapest shipping, I generally have to wait 2 weeks for my books.

Canadian books, as I seem to remember, on the other hand, always seemed to be more expensive than US books, even after the exchange rate -- even if it was the exact same edition.
