I don't know what kind of frogs they were. Just that they were pretty colours and we could only find them at night time (Are some frogs nocturnal?)

When I was a wee tyke, I used to catch pollywogs (or tadpoles)and raise them into frogs, then Id take them back where I got them and free them. There was Smiley, Stanley, Gordon, Tiffany (noone liked her except me), Backlash, Janis, and Tweety (She was an angry frog.)
