QMike leaves for a summer long sojourn in Australia on the 16th, so bring interesting things that a 14-year old might find useful in Oz.

Pulls wheeled shopping carryall into kitchen and begins unpacking crackers, crisps (chips), tostado chips, bottles of salsa, avocados, sour cream, onion dip, numerous kinds of cheese, 2 pineapples, a gross of chicken tenders, half a dozen baguettes, 3 large pottery bowls of pate, 3 lb. of sausage meat and several packets of flaky pastry for sausage rolls, 5 lb. of thinly sliced roast beef and another 5 lb. of ham, several heads of lettuce and a fistful of parsely, a 3 lb. bag of carrots, lots of radishes, two heads of cauliflower, several vidalia onions and a 5 lb. bag of rat kibble.

Ampton! Help me put this stuff away, please.
*Ampton regards the groceries, seemingly immobilized*

And I need to bake a cake.

And that's knackered me. It's 2 in the morning and I'm for bed. See everyone in the morning!

So what's the outlook on life of a optimistic pessimist?

I always thought the definition of a pessimist was "Someone who was an optimist but has come into contact with reality"

Optimistic pessimist: one who believes with certainty that the world is going to hell in a handbasket, and is looking forward to it.

Good morning everybody! Yep, the service is back and I'm here. Bumblebee, what will you do with the eggs?

I'll be bringing back a few more things later this morning, and tomight I'll do the sausage rolls, and tomorrow the cake. Right now I have mbougatses to make. I've just remembered that Titania is at the folk festival all week, so I better do the Swedish meatballs tonight,too.

Sporky, could you make more of that wonderful ravioli?
The Colonel is bartending, but who can fetch in the kegs of beer?

*Deposits several tins of caviar in the fridge.*

Wish these were bottomless, like that champagne bottle. ~sighs~

The eggs are to be scrambled (with a dollop of cream if you have) and served together with the thinly sliced salmon.
Ideally layed on a slice of white bread with some of that lettuce and garnished with thinly sliced cucumber and lemon.
And a tiny sprig of dill. Mmmm!

*returns with more groceries, including cucumbers, assuming that the colonel brought in plenty of lemons and limes for the bartneding department*

Getting ready for a party is almost as much fun as the party. I'm the kind who takes a photo of the buffet just beforee the guests arrive.

Are you guys going to help me with this food prep?

*Unloads tomatoes, brazil nuts and sunflower seeds, aragula (for Mindspring), rye bread, thin wheat crackers, Jacob's cream crackers, a whole round of cheddar to supplement all the specialty cheeses bought last night, genoa salami, pastrami, capacola ham, jambon de paris, tuna and macaroni for salads, celery, green and red peppers, alfalfa sprouts, ranch and herbal dips, flowers, crepe paper, and balloons*

I hope Sporky will do the music.

I'll bring along some beer, though it looks like you've got plenty of lager in the fridge.

*Sporky gathers up all the brazil nuts (not wanting to cause an incident if their crude pseudonym shows its ugly head), throws them in a garbage bag, and politely hands them to Fred, Garbageman extraordinaire.
