I read the book very quickly so nobody would spoil the ending for me and im pretty sure nothing was said whether anything happened to the dreaded Durseleys once they left the house in 1st chapter. Please correct me if im wrong.

No, you're right Hermoine. I kind of expected them to show up again at some point.

Hermione1 Posted Aug 17, 2007
Yes you think there would of been a small chapter on them at some stage to say whether they survived or not.But then again maybe we are just expected to read between the lines.Hopefully there is an eighth book(wishfull thinking)

Don't think so. Rowling is reportedly working on other projects at the moment.

Well thats a shame, but in saying that i suppose the series cant go on forever.Do you know of the clan of the cave bear series?I read the books a few years ago and i thought they were fantastic, but i cannot for the life of me remember the authors name.

Jean Auel. I liked the first two, but the third badly needed a firm editor. Extremely repetitive. Travel all day, suffer jeopardy, make dinner, have sex. Rinse and repeat.

Yes you are right it was repetitive but i still couldnt put the books down as once i start a series i cant stop. And funnily enough i read the 1st 3 chapters 5 times in the 1st book and put the book down as i didnt like it, then one day i decided to try again and got very much addicted.

The final film will certainly have most of the cameos missing, I'd have thought. Sprout, Trelawney and sundry others that pop up only for a paragraph or two in the final battle will simply not appear, otherwise the film will last for days and they'll have everyone in Britain in the cast!
I did kick myself for not realising what the silver doe really was. And I jumped when the old lady turned out to be the snake. And I was surprised at some of the things that happened 'off camera', particularly Hermione destroying the horcrux (did it not fight back like the diary, the ring and the locket?) and the deaths of Lupin and Tonks. In fact, when Lupin appeared from the stone, I had to check that he really was dead!

I haven't seem him, Titania, but I am a little concerned about what he might be up to...

Ahem - don't let Mindspring hear you calling her 'he' - she's Ripley's great-aunt.
*checks the drawers of the librarian's desk and is relieved to find them locked*

Over there by the entrance to the Rift -- are those spinach leaves?

*blushes in an owlish way and mutters something about continuity errors and being far too forgetful...*
Certainly look like leaves of some kind, but I can hardly be considered an expert on leafy foodstuffs - somewhat outside my usual sphere of experience.
