Greetings, gag. I see you've wasted no time jumping into this stuff, which always cool to see. I'm an Assistant Community Editor (ACE), and normally it's my job to help you get started, but obviously you need no help at all.

Sorry to inform you, however, that you don't really have any way to edit or delete journal entries at this point. The only way to get rid of an offending entry is to add more entries, until it gets pushed off your page. Sounds crude, I know, but the Powers in the Towers are working on it.

I don't know if I should admit to how I came up with the name ?? But I will.. I didn't know what to call myself, being a fan of HHGTTG, I was thinking of something along the lines of Babblefish etc.. but couldn't come up with anything.. Lacking imagination I logged into one of my Linux boxes and started looking at fortunes.. and.. I saw this one.. that is it.

What made it interesting is that I saw the latin translation and pasted a link in my page

Thanks for the offer of help, in fact, I discovered this site on Friday when the description of Motorbikes was posted on a BMW Bikers list (I own two BMW bikes) and so far I've not stopped reading stuff, very interesting, a lot of it brain food, a lot of it just crap and of course most of it interesting reading..

But I thought that I should put something on my page. I won't of course have time to do much on the page but I'll be on this site for relaxation, entertainment and education.

I think it's best not to have a name stolen from the books, truth to tell, but I've been around here so long that everybody knows me by this one, so there's no point in changing it. The name you've chosen is actually an old 80's San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles) phrase, so that's why I hit you with the "Valley talk" in the forum title.

It's cool that you put *something* on your page, no matter what, because now people can drop in and talk to you like this. Until you change your homepage, visitors don't have a place to sit. And don't worry about contributions... I find that there are a lot of diferent things people use this site for. Some just like to read the articles, and post a comment or two. Some are totally into the community feel, and use it as a chat utility, but never write anything for the Guide. Then there's the ones like me, aspiring writers who use this place as a way to sharpen skills until we're ready for a paying gig. As long as you find something you like here, that's all that matters. Who knows, maybe you'll change your mind about that, too. This place can be addictive, but there is an addiction clinic around here somewhere. Of course, I don't have a problem...

Speaking as an actual Valley person, i must say, it's pretty cool you chose that name... i was actually considering my favorite spin on it.. "gag me with a lawnmower" but, like, ya know.. it didn't fit! lolol!
