A Conversation for Ginkgo Biloba

Ginko Makes Deer Smarter!!!

Yes it is true...
The North American whitetail deer are definately getting much wiser as (unfortunately) the people planting Ginko trees are getting stupider.(yes... I mean me!).
Several years ago I planted a little Ginko with naive plans of experimenting with the purported memory enhanceing qualities on my own poor brain.
Those pesky "bambi-bas***ds" barely waited until I was out of sight and began munching contentedly on the Ginko.
Next I enclosed the new tree in fence with hopes that at least I could save the roots of the tree for next year.
Oh yeah...the rotten pests gleefully pushed through the fence and ate the new spring leaves upon arrival.
Next I enhanced the fence with a stronger field fence, ringed the tree with barbwire, set up scarecrows, and set out manure from the lion's at the zoo. All to no avail...the deer laughed at my efforts and continuely increased their I.Q.
In a last ditch effort, (with my sanity slipping away), I put up chain-link fence with concertina wire, dug a moat, set out guard dogs, and installed a security system with the finest infrared sensors that money could buy! (Now I was confident).
The highly intelligent pests chortled at my efforts,(I still can hear them laughing), as they picked the lock on the chain-link fence, drowned the guard dogs in the moat, kicked my scarecrows in a delicate place, and gnawed the now six year old "tree" (i.e. twig) back to the ground. To add insult to injury, they unhooked the security system, and placed it around my own home!
Now anytime I "sneak "outside to try to shoot the stinking critters, the alarm gives me away.
And The Worst:
Now I have forgotten why I wanted to grow the damn tree in the first place...

Yes Elico...The rotten deer have positivelly ruined me for life...I now hold my head in shame whenever the term "venison" is mentioned. smiley - winkeye
(incidently)...I was shamelessly prowling on your site and wish to agree with you that LIFE STARTS WITH MIDDLE AGE!!!
I would never wish to go back to the torrid twenties...the trashing thirties...but perhaps would like to continue in the fantastic forties!!! (Oh...this is a new century drat it?) Where did I put that gingko extract???
Be well...

I actually take gingko myself. I was getting to the stage when I would find myself in a room and couldn't for the life of me remember what I was doing there. By taking gingko biloba regularly I have improved my memory. I can even do the Times crossword again! I truly feel that I have at least 50 more years ahead of me. I feel wonderful and I would never want to go back to all that uncertainty and insecurity of youth. I even feel more sixties than I did in the sixties!

Peace and love

I have come to the conclusion that I definitely need Ginkgo Biloba.(Notice how I mis-spelled It in the title!!!)
As a matter of fact all of my spelling is pretty poor, my grammer is awful, and my sanity is called into question. smiley - winkeye
If memory (fractured as it is) is correct...there are several other possible memory enhancers from the "herbalist" world.
Guta Kola from India comes to mind, as well as Chinese Club Moss, and Blessed Thistle. I don't know if any of the above are accurate or practical however.

I rushed to my herbal books and couldn't find any of the herbs you mentioned, but I will certainly research them on the net and see what I can find. Thanks for the info!
