Suffering from needing TOO MUCH sleep

Post 1

I'm not really here

Years ago (and by years I mean decades) I was drinking so much coffee I made it a rule not to drink it after 6pm. Then 4pm. And for a while, 2pm, as it was affecting my sleep quite badly.

I've just changed the rule to 'you must drink coffee after 6pm' because I'm falling asleep at really stupid times of the evening. I suspect this is because I need another operation on my nose and although I'm waking refreshed in the mornings (between 5&6am usually) I'm not actually getting enough proper sleep as I'm not breathing properly.

Or, it's possibly advanced sleep phase disorder (search engines make everyone a diagnostician), although why I'd suddenly get that I don't know, but 'bright light' therapy in the evening can help, so it's a good job I bought myself a daylight lamp for cross stitching. So I will be bathing under that, sipping my pepsi max, in the hope it will help. Although I quite like waking refreshed at 5am because I can have some time for a quiet bit of reading, then get up to do some work while there isn't anyone else awake to distract me.

I'm not really here

I have been on steroids twice this year, within about 3 months, which affected my sleep due to bladder side effects waking me up at 5am. I guess because I just got up instead of going back to bed that might have kick started it.
