I asked a friend of mine if I got a daycare centre if he'd 'open' it (he's a celeb you know), and he didn't answer - I thought he'd changed the subject. I asked again, and got the same 'change' of subject. Then it clicked - he was asking if he could watch me training puppies/dogs, I assume so he didn't then endorse someone who'd beat up dogs and stack them in crates all day. I think.

Jan is a good month for puppies, so he's coming out on Thursday to visit 3 puppies for home visits, and a training session with a new owner and her puppy. I'm probably going to have one of those 'why did I ever think I could do this??' 'why are these people asking me?' 'why do they always ask me questions I don't know the answer to' days. All. Day. Long.

They ask me because I'm the Expert, I know that, but when someone who's been an expert for a lot longer than me is watching, phew, that's scary!

Well in my job I spend a lot of time doing that sort of thing and yes it is scary.

However, remember that proper experts wouldn't/won't take the time to bother without the person they are observing already having a good track record and respect. Usually they're too busy otherwise.

Awwww, that's so nice, I hadn't thought of it like that! I did 5 months of training with him, to get used to running a class, but I don't really like the planning that goes along with classes. It is good to have someone shadow me, working alone of course I could pick up bad habits, or if there's something I could improve I won't notice myself. If I'd realised he wanted to observe I'd have got him out in September!
