I'm not really here

Only I has this new phone, see, and it's like, a smart phone, and so far it's either *much* smarter than me or COMPLETELY BLOODY STUPID so there may be some gnashing and wailing of teeth and throwing things around the room.

I think it's bullied my memory stick. smiley - erm I charged it with the USB port that normally got the memory stick in there, and now it's showing up as 'nothing to see here, move along'. So I panicked as it has my work records on there, stuck it in the netbook and lo, there are my accounts and documents. smiley - huh

Took a back up (in terror!), popped back into laptop and although I can open up one document from my desktop, memory stick refuses to accept there's anything on it, and it won't save any updates to the document, says I haven't got permission. smiley - wah

I hate Sony Ericcsons. But they have the best cameras, so I'm stuck with them at the moment. Can't be arsed to carry a camera around as well as a phone.

The phone is completely stupid of course. Been sold something that needs updating IMMEDIATELY to do nearly everything. Right flicks me off.

And J is at this dad's this weekend, so can't get anything done. What's the point of having a teenache boy in the house if not to do all this tedious setting up and downloading while I smiley - coffee and smiley - choc

May I swap him for my 17 y/o teenache girl? I'm either "Such a freak", "So gay" or "A retard" unless she wants money, which seems to be a lot of the time smiley - sigh

Plus, I have to tolerate a house full of smallie girls becasue they all have to come to my house to get changed to go out smiley - cross Why do they never go to anyone else's? smiley - shrug It's a big house and yet they insist on taking over the whole place to run about getting changed, and some of them aren't so smalliesmiley - rolleyes Crikey, I'm a normal middle-aged heterosexual bloke, I'm not their Dad, it's so smiley - blush

No. You have to keep what you've spawned, it's the law.

I don't like girls very much, although I can see that them running around in their undies might be slightly disruptive to normal household running! smiley - yikes

With your USB, you could try an "uninstall" then "scan for hardware changes" in Device Manager. I once rescued a memory stick like that.

More recently I had to send my work USB off to a specialist data recovery service as it wasn't being recognised by any computer and I was in a panic. They were absolutely brilliant and every single file and folder was recovered. There was probably a broken connection between the chip and the thingie that plugs into the computer, so they actually removed the chip and transferred the data onto a new stick. email me if you want their details.

Teenagers... I remember when I had some.

My brother has told me that it could be because I move it between computers, as they can often go a bit funny when using two different OS (laptop is still Vista, netbook in W7), because of all the extra bits the bigger sticks need to work and vista apparently finds it hard work.

My older (smaller) stick has been working with both still, so I've switched to using that, and the newer one still works with W7 so I think I'm ok. Will just be backing up every day from now on!
