From the laptop to the PS3 sounds fine when you say it like that, but in practice its a pain in the arse, so I've gone back to using the memory stick. Takes longer to set up, but hopefully won't be having 'network errors' that I've had all day today! Hopefully I'll also be able to use the rewind function if I happen to miss a bit, which has never really worked in streaming.
Now I've done it I've got to go out so can't test it. Pants.
Also I wonder if I can ge a DVDX for the PS3? I could do with a 6th remote control to have getting in the way.

Much easier on your 360, which is what I do as a matter of course now. Also, the MCE that comes with Windows 7 is vastly superior to the Vista MCE.

My 360 isn't wireless - I saved myself some cash as the PS3 was wireless so didn't think I needed another one.
Loading them onto the machine made things work a lot better though.

I use a pair of Comtrend network adapters to connect the 360 up to the workstation. Two network cables and a hub should do the job for you, if you're so inclined.

I have no desire for any more cables! 
Not when the PS3 does the job.
