Weird station fact

Cardiff Central station has 6 platforms but for some reason they are numbered in pairs - 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 6 & 7 - there is no platform 5!
The situation has been made even stranger recently by the building of an additional short platform which is used for when the station is busy because of Millennium Stadium events. They have called this platform 0!

Regarding platform numbering at Cardiff Central Station, ther did use to be a platform 5, it was a bay platform at the West end of Platforms 3/4 and there are still signs of it, if you know where to look.
Regarding platform 0, this *is* strange, and I believe unique in the UK at present.
