How do you go about shaving your lady's bits? Do you simply shave it into a pretty shape? Do you trim it first (y'know, neaten it up a bit)? Do you just whip it all off? Discuss, I'm perplexed.

I think everyone has been very restrained in regards this question. But I'm not often a restrained person 
Since there are only 2 postings on your page I don't know if you come back to H2G2, but if you ever do;
My answer to your question, would be, that as a bloke, I believe women look wonderful with no pubic hair at all, a preferance shared by a fair number of men. For myself, I apply a good trim every now and again.
