h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

When the Harold Holt thread suddenly came to life, I was curious to see who'd posted and found your home page. And your other home page (neat!). As nobody else has been by yet (they will, they will), I get the pleasure of being the first to say Hi there! Welcome to h2g2.

Which reminds me. I was visitor #42 to World of RoD. There is no such thing as coincidence.

For a few years after 'Clerks' by Kevin Smith came out it was to get called anything else... apparently some friends decided I looked like Dante - the main character. Just one of the reasons I ditched the beard.

This whole h2g2 scene is turning into a neat display of interconnectiveness. Consider:
* Holt's been a big fave of mine as my older sister was born the day he vanished - Dec.18, 1967 - so all my mum remembers from the birth was everyone around saying 'have they found him yet?'
* You're visitor 42 to my other site. (now what was the question!)
* A huge page on Dante Alighieri has just been submitted by Zarquon (like within an hour of me choosing my name!)

It compiles all the best history articles written by h2g2 users, and it already has a whole lot of excellent articles. I only wrote 2 so far, the one on Dante, and an earlier (and much shorter) one on Brian Boru, the King of Munster who drove out the Vikings and united Ireland under one native leader for the first and last time in history. I will be writing more, and I think I might specialize in biography. The best articles are by Bran the Exporer (No I didn't forget the "l"). His articles are very profesional, but he tends to write on a higher level, making it hard for people to understand without already knowing a little about history. This is especially true of his excellent "Merovingian to Carolingian--Dynastic Changes in Frankia (Francia)". I try to write on a level that requires very little historical knowledge to understand. Still, for history buffs, his articles are unparelelled.
