Bald Bloke

I blame Pastey...(just had a long post vaporise)
here's the short version.

My memories are much the same as yours.
In those days I was associated with a number of smaller left wing groups, (Monty python has nothing on the reality Splitters!! and Citizen smith was a documentary)

To be honest the whole rally and march were somewhat chaotic, later events were much better organised.

By the time we got to the park after the rally (we were at the back of the march, as usual) it was already over crowded, however we managed to infiltrate the crowd so we could actually here the bands.

pebblederook-The old guy wearing surfer beads- what does he think he looks like?

Fascinating read. To think that just that conversation with your brother made a difference to the way he saw things. How many others down the line had their thoughts changed or inspired on the 'pass it on' principle.

Sometimes the problems in this world seem so big that it is difficult to see how we can solve them. The answer (in part) is in not expecting to have to solve the whole problem, just our tiny bit of it.

By the way, I never apologise for spelling mistakes, bad grammar, stylistic errors, or poor taste. It only draws attention to the fact that they exist in the article, which may have passed unnoticed, and apologies are not necessary when the writing is your gift to the reader.

Ah well, I'm a teacher. Beacon of exemplary practice and all that.

I usually proof read, and thought I had, but the mistakes are glaringly obvious to me. I want to get the green pen out (not allowed to use red any more) and correct them. Blame the Lem Sip. Or the boogie. Or possibly my old teachers who had nothing more constructive to say than tell me my handwriting was terrible. It isn't now. And I have O level and A level English from ye days when we were taught how to precis and one of my set books was Gower's Complete Plain Words.

Never mind, I won't be writing much on here again. I never do. smiley - lurk

Deb

I never noticed spelling/grammar problems and I'm usually pretty eagle eyed. I think that shows how absorbing the words were. So interesting.

Deb smiley - cheerup

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I'm useually far better (butter), at spotting otter peoples typing, spelling or gramatical errors... but it really was so absorbing I didn't notice any smiley - blush I seem to have an absolute blind-spot to picking up on my own typing errors, or in ever proof-reading, etc., on h2g2, which is odd, as a big part of my last job, was proof-reading other peoples technical documents, as well as writing technical documents myself... But then I always check, recheck and check again, in that situation to try and ensure its got as few errors as possible smiley - zen

Thank you very much.
Like Deb, I didn't notice any of those grammar things you mentioned. The story was too interesting. smiley - biggrin

That was fascinating (she says, very belatedly). I love how the poster story is more than just you finding it in the V&A (although how cool is that?!), and more than just being one of those 'were you there' things (although, again, also very cool) but also an important family moment. Definitely worth the wait! The poster's pretty nifty too.
